AirDoor is a revolutionary alternative to traditional air curtains

It employs a three-sided air curtain with active, targeted airflow to enhance interior comfort and boost the building’s energy efficiency. Situated directly inside the entrance, it generates a plume of air to reduce weather-related infiltration, such as wind (temperature & humidity disruption), dust, pollution and wind-driven rain (slippery floors). AWARDS for AirDoor

Judges were fulsome in their praise for the winner AirDoor. They said the company had reinvented the over-door air curtain, and addressed challenges in a sector where innovation to reduce energy consumption and heat loss is ‘long overdue’.

They praised AirDoor’s cost-effectiveness, the ease of installation and maintenance, and the remote monitoring and management features that allows the manufacturer to respond quickly to operational issues.

The awarding body stated: “The company has been on a journey from pinnacle motorsport design to using their expertise in aerodynamics and computer modelling to design sustainable solutions for problems in different sectors for instance their products are extensively used to save energy in supermarket fridges.

“Wirth is awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development because it is an innovative and exemplary company that has used its modelling and aerodynamic skills acquired through the motor racing industry to transition to providing energy solutions in a range of diverse industries.

“It has demonstrated leadership both within and outside the company and has had a major positive impact.”

The judging panel described AirDoor as a “New product on the market, which shows innovation solving the issue of open doors and windows on retail and other premises. Taking air curtains to a higher level whilst saving Millions of tons of Carbon.”

“[Wirth] have really thought about air movement and heat losses and gains, and created a product which automatically takes this into account, adjusting its output accordingly for maximum effect. A well thought-out solution to a common problem.”
