Wirth’s refrigeration class-leading technologies, EcoBlade & TrueChill, have been shortlisted in the Sustainable Project of the Year category at the PwC Business Post Sustainable Business Awards.

Carried out in collaboration with partner BWG, the project’s primary goal was to create highly energy efficient refrigerated display units whilst also taking into consideration the shopper’s experience. The optimised TrueChill cabinets delivered, on average, a 20-25% reduction in total store energy consumption, while being substantially cheaper than the alternative (cabinets with doors). TrueChill units are being installed in all new BWG stores and all store redevelopments.
