We are thrilled to announce that our founder, Nick Wirth, has been shortlisted for the highly prestigious IET Achievement Medal.
This distinguished honour recognises engineers and technologists who have made an exceptional contribution to advancing science, innovation, and industry on a global scale. Nick’s career has been defined by visionary thinking and groundbreaking work across motorsport, automotive, and environmental technologies, and this shortlisting is a powerful acknowledgment of his leadership and enduring impact.
At Wirth Research, we take immense pride in his pioneering approach, which has continually pushed boundaries while inspiring the next generation of innovators. Being recognised by the IET not only celebrates Nick’s extraordinary achievements but also reflects the values of creativity, rigour, and excellence that drive everything we do. We look forward with excitement to the final announcement and congratulate Nick on this remarkable recognition.
AirDoor, EcoBlade and TrueChill have been recognised as finalists in the prestigious Cleantech Award category at the National Sustainability Awards 2025. This nomination celebrates our commitment to pioneering technologies that drive substantial reductions in energy usage and carbon emissions in the built environment. These innovative solutions are helping retailers and commercial property operators across the UK achieve new standards in sustainability by enhancing energy efficiency, supporting decarbonisation, and promoting environmental responsibility.
TrueChill MT and ClimateFlow have been shortlisted in the Green Technology Award category at the Green Awards 2025.
Wirth is honoured to be nominated for the Oxford Climate Awards in the Innovation in Climate Action category. This recognition highlights our commitment to energy-saving solutions, including the AirDoor air curtain and EcoBlade. Since pivoting our business from pinnacle motorsport to the supply of high-tech, innovative, energy-saving solutions to the retail and commercial buildings sectors, we’ve saved our customers over 600 GWh of energy and close to 300,000 tonnes of CO2. Our technologies have been installed in many supermarkets across the region, strengthening our ties to Oxfordshire, where we’ve been based for almost 20 years.
